Mr Manny Cao

Biography

 Mr Cao undertook surgical training in Melbourne through Western Health and rotated to all the affiliated hospitals including the Alfred Hospital & Goulburn Valley Base Hospital.  He was appointed as the Surgical Fellow at Bendigo Health in 2013. He enjoyed working in central Victoria so much that he decided to permanently move to Bendigo as a local surgeon. He has an interest in all general surgical conditions, acute and/or chronic, not limited to: • Colorectal disease; including laparoscopic bowel resections • Laparoscopic groin hernia and major abdominal wall surgery • Endoscopic surveillance • Gallbladder surgery • Varicose vein surgery • Acute general surgery Mr Manny Cao maintains an active interest in surgical education and was awarded an ‘Excellence in Teaching’ award by the University of Melbourne for his work with final year rural medical students in 2013. He is an instructor for the RACS CCriSP course and is currently the Supervisor for Surgical Training in Bendigo.  He continues to remain passionate about regional medical workforce collegiality, recruitment and sustainability, and was appointed as the current Chair of the Medical Staff Group at Bendigo Health as of May 2017.  Practice Locations Mr Manny Cao has regular operating lists at St John of God Bendigo. He has public appointments at Bendigo Health, Echuca Regional Health and Castlemaine Health and provides a regular oncall and consultative service to each of these networks.
