Biography
Donald Igboelina provides country-wide coordination to the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria's ACTION-PlusUPProject. This Project is funded by the US Government PEPFAR Program through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In this capacity, Dr. Igboelina provides technical and organizational leadership in the design, implementation and monitoring of HIV Care and Treatment programs in support of Government of Nigeria's strategic plans. Before his position as Associate Director, Dr. Igboelina supervised the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria's activities in the Southern Region as Regional Manager covering South East and South South states of Edo, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Imo, Rivers, Enugu and Balyesa. He coordinated the Institute's effort to mitigate HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and other infectious diseases in these states. He also managed a team of 35 staff to carry out regional activities such as Continuous Quality Improvement Initiatives and Health Systems Strengthening in health facilities supported by the Institute.
