Renato José Baiardi

Biography

Mr. Renato Baiardi was born in the state of Bahia on July 13, 1943. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), and has taken extension courses in Calculation of Plates through the Plastic Hinges Method (Mathematics Institute, Salvador), Organizational Development (CONCISA, Rio de Janeiro), Pre-Stressed Concrete (Engineering Club of Bahia, Salvador), Finances for Area Executives (ANR, Salvador) and Political Sociology (School of Philosophy of the Federal University of Bahia, Salvador). He began his career in 1966 as monitor for the Statistics Discipline at UFBA's Polytechnic School. He joined the Odebrecht Group through Construtora Norberto Odebrecht (CNO), in 1967, as technical assistant. Throughout his history at CNO, he occupied various positions and was elected CEO in 1988. Mr. Renato Baiardi also served as Director at Odebrecht Engenharia de Minas Ltda., CEO at Multitrade S.A., Director at Empreendimentos Siderúrgicos Ltda., Managing Director at Odebrecht Serviços no Exterior Ltda., CEO at Odebrecht Overseas Limited, Director at Odebrecht S.A. In 1989, he was elected Vice Chairman and member of the Board of Directors of Odebrecht S.A.. In 1995, he was elected CEO, and remained in office until 2001. Between 1997 and 2001, he was also Chief Executive Officer for TENENGE – Técnica Nacional de Engenharia Ltda. and CBPO – Engenharia Ltda.
