Biography

He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1987), a master's degree in astronomy from the MCT / National Observatory (1989) and a doctorate in astronomy from the MCT / National Observatory (1993). He is currently a full professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and a level 1 researcher at CNPq. It is affiliated with the Interinstitutional e-Astronomy Laboratory (LIneA) and participates in the Dark Energy Survey and Sloan Digital Sky Survey - IV surveys. Disclose Astronomy through the UFRGS Astronomical Observatory and the Itinerant Educational Observatory, the country's first mobile science project, in operation since 06/1999. Author of teaching material for non-formal teaching and also for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching

Research Interest

Has experience of research, teaching and dissemination in the area of ​​Astronomy. His research is focused on the subjects of solved star populations, stellar clusters, structure, formation and evolution of the galaxy and galaxies in general.
