Biography
Dr. Chan is a Professor of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). In February 2014, he was appointed Dean of Medicine. Dr. Chan obtained his degree in medicine in 1988, and received a medical doctorate in 1998, both while attending CUHK. The latter included research studies conducted at the University of Calgary, in Alberta, Canada. Dr. Chan has received numerous international awards for his research, including The David Y. Graham Lecturer award in 2005 from the American College of Gastroenterology. Dr. Chan has been the lead investigator of numerous large clinical trials, including several focusing on Celebrex, one of the most widely used nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
