Dr. Nathaniel Ostashewski

Biography

Assistant Professor Nathaniel M. Ostashewski BSc Alberta, BEd Alberta, MEd Alberta, EdD Athabasca is the Academic Engagement Projects Developer at Curtin Teaching & Learning, Curtin University. He holds a teacher’s license in the province of Alberta, Canada. He has taught a complete range of subjects in K-12 including science, media, physical education, and language arts for 17 years between 1991 and 2008. Nathaniel has been also engaged in providing teacher professional learning related to technology use in the classroom since 1996 for numerous teacher conferences and school divisions.

Research Interest

from 2005 to 2012, Nathaniel has been involved in a variety of instructional design, professional learning development, and educational technology consultancies. During that time he has been working as an academic consultant, instructional designer, and social media researcher for several higher education institutions. These consultancies have resulted in his developing design, evaluation, and production skills in the areas of online learning, blended learning, and face-2-face learning projects. He has developed numerous courses in education, culture, business, management, construction, and information technology faculties. Nathaniel’s skill in the area of instructional design that focuses on “worth it” student engagement has resulted in his being a highly sought after designer.
