Biography
Leung Oi Sie, Elsie (æ¢æ„›è©©), aged 74, has been appointed as an independent non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 7 May 2013. Ms. Leung was the Secretary for Justice of Hong Kong as well as a member of the Executive Council of Hong Kong from July 1997 to October 2005. She was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Hong Kong in 1968 and she is also a qualified solicitor in England and Wales. She is currently a consultant of Iu, Lai & Li Solicitors & Notaries and she is also a Notary Public and China-Appointed Attesting Officer. Ms. Leung also serves as an independent nonexecutive director of each of UC Rusal Plc and China Resources Power Holdings Company Limited, both are companies listed on the Stock Exchange. Ms. Leung served as a member of several government boards and committees, including the Independent Police Complaints Council, Equal Opportunities Commission, Social Welfare Advisory Committee and Inland Revenue Board of Review. Ms. Leung served as a delegate of the Seventh Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress from 1988 to 1993, and a delegate of the Eighth NPC from 1993 to 1997. She has been the deputy director of the Hong Kong Basic Law Committee of the Standing Committee of the NPC since 2006. Ms. Leung obtained from the University of Hong Kong in November 1988 a master’s degree in law.
