Biography
Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Kaminski, born on 8 February 1963 in Waal, studied medical science at LMU in Munich and received the licence to practice medicine in 1991. Following his time as an assistant physician in the departments of cardiology and preventive cardiology at the Innenstadtklinikum in Munich (1989 – 1993), he received his doctor’s degree at Max-von-Pettenkofer-Institut in Munich in 1993. After that, he spent five years in the USA, initially as a postdoc at Cornell University, NY (1993 – 94), then as a DFG fellow at the University of Washington, Seattle (1994 – 96), where he later also worked as a visiting fellow at the Center for Vascular Biology (1996 – 98).
