Biography
From 2007-2013, he worked as a lecturer and assistant professor of English at King Abdulaziz University and Imam Mohammed ibn Saud University in Saudi Arabia. From 2005-2007, Dr. Alger was a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Manchester and taught Old English literature, medieval studies, and manuscript research skills for M.A. students. Currently, he is the module leader for the Upper Intermediate course at the BUE, and he is also the English Department Webmaster and E-Learning Coordinator. Dr. Alger has also worked as an IT business development manager in Dubai, U.A.E., and is a freelance web designer and software engineer. Education History: Ph.D. English, University of Manchester (2010), focusing on Old English poetry and palaeography. M.A. English Studies, University of Manchester (2004), focusing on Medieval Studies, specifically Old and Middle English. B.A. English, Washington State University (2001), focusing on technical writing, new media, Renaissance poetry, and Chicano studies.
