Biography
Didier Demazière's research is organized around two poles: one on unemployment and public employment policies , the other on the transformations of work and the dynamics of professional groups . The question of the functioning of labor markets and the structuring of professional careers lies at the intersection of these two orientations. The first involves research on the arrangements for accompanying the unemployed, the work of professional advisers, the biographical trajectories of job-seekers and the experiences of job loss.
Research Interest
Several of these aspects are studied through international comparisons (France, Brazil Japan in particular). The second orientation is reflected in research focusing on the links between professions and organizations, on the division of labor, on competition and coordination between professions, and on standards of professionalism. Currently, three empirical fields are studied, chosen because the uncertainties about what is work are very strong: politicians, sports agents, developers of free software. Since 2011 Head of the Doctoral program of Sociology at Sciences Po. Lecturer at the University Paris-Dauphine in the master consulting and accompaniment of change in organizations.
