Biography
Emmanuel Lazega contributes to the development of a neo-structural sociology that articulates in particular the organizational analysis and analysis of social networks to account for the functioning of collective action . This approach observes, models, articulates and compares the generic social processes at the meso level (particularist solidarities and exclusions, socialization and collective learning, social control and conflict management, regulation and institutionalization) in order to better understand the " organizational society ". E.Lazega has developed this approach at the intra- and inter-organizational level, for example in the study of forms of collective action between peers (collegial organization, forms of articulation between bureaucracy and collegiality in work lawyers, judges, researchers, priests, etc.) or in the study of co-operation between competitors (joint regulation of markets and the business world). This theoretical and analytical framework is used inter alia to monitor how the boundaries between the private and the public are shifting and how private actors are increasingly replacing public authorities in many areas of life economic and social.
