Biography
Jean-Noël Jouzel works on controversies related to environmental health issues. His work focuses on the causes of ignorance of occupational diseases caused by exposure of workers to toxic products. From a perspective combining science studies, the sociology of public action and the sociology of mobilization, his research contributes to the current development of works on the social construction of ignorance. He is currently pursuing research on two main areas: the first is environmental health issues related to manufactured nanoparticles; the second is the question of the links between the health of agricultural workers and exposures to pesticides. He participates in numerous collaborative research projects. He co-leads the ANR Index on " Independence of experts and problems ". He participated in the " Socioagripest " project led by Nathalie Jas (Inra) on the invisibility of pesticide-induced occupational diseases.
Research Interest
It also performs expertise missions. In particular, he was a member of the Hearing Commission in the framework of the public hearing Post-professional monitoring after the exposure to asbestos put in place by the High Authority of Health (2009-2010). He is a member of the working group " Agricultural workers and pesticides " that Anses set up at the end of 2011.
