Biography
Her main research questions relate to the process of recognition of facial expressions and the type and nature of facial information used by observers to decode the emotional message. Particular emphasis is placed on the spontaneous and dynamic expressions that occur in real social interactions and in natural contexts. Oculometric analysis and the use of mesh numerical modeling make it possible to supplement the standard methodologies of subjective judgments for the quantitative study of this process. Moreover, in order to better understand the latter in its many dimensions, the intercultural and pathological aspects are also developed. Strong Research Focous: The problematic of emotions is now returning to the intellectual scene. This is partly due to recent discoveries in the field of neuroscience, made possible by new techniques of brain imaging. This is also due to the fact that in the human sciences, many disciplines - psychology, ethology, sociology and linguistics - are concerned by this issue and are beginning to take an interest in emotions.
