Biography
Dr. Newlon has extensive expertise applying economics and statistics to matters relating to labor and antitrust litigation in the health care, delivery services, and financial industries. During her 15 years as an economic consultant and testifying expert, she has worked on matters involving damages estimates, economic losses, and allegations of monopsony. In addition to her knowledge of economic and statistical analyses, she also has experience building large and complex databases, developing and implementing surveys, and using independent modeling to analyze back-end corporate data. Dr. Newlon has experience in a wide range of legal matters ranging from class actions (class certification, liability, and damages) to individual plaintiff allegations. In labor litigation, Dr. Newlon has analyzed allegations of discrimination related to pay, promotions, hiring, and termination, including reductions in force. She also has significant experience with wage and hour allegations such as unpaid overtime, incorrect regular rate, missed meal penalties, timesheet rounding neutrality, waiting time penalties, and misclassification of contractors. In addition, Dr. Newlon has assessed economic losses in single plaintiff matters related to alleged wrongful termination, injury, and incarceration.
