Biography
Christophe Legendre, MD, is professor of Nephrology at Paris Descartes University and Head of the Adult Nephrology and Transplantation Unit at Necker Hospital in Paris. He trained at the University of Montpellier, France, and spent three years as a postdoctoral fellow in the Immunogenetics Laboratory (Dr. Ronald Guttmann) at McGill University, Montreal, Canada. Dr. Legendre is Consulting Editor of the American Journal of Transplantation, Deputy Editor and Associate Editor of Transplantation of Kidney International. Dr. Legendre's hand research interests include clinical assessment of new immunosuppressants, viral after-transplantation infection (hepatitis, CMV, HHV-8), transplantation in high-risk containers (immunological risk, dual transplants, and marginal kidneys), screening kidney biopsies, and recurrence of Disease post transplantation. He has published approximately 380 papers in English peer-reviewed journals.
