Biography
Marco A. Araneda, M.D., specializes in medical oncology. He is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. Dr. Araneda has special interests in breast cancer, hematologic malignancies, and molecular targeted therapy. Dedicated to the continued enrichment of his community, Dr. Araneda provides a question-and-answer health column for a community publication and is a clinical instructor at the Regional Academic Health Center – a lower Rio Grande Valley extension campus of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He complete his Medical degree in 1989 from San Carlos University in Guatemala; internship in internal medicine at Michael Reese Hospital & Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois; internal medicine residency and medical oncology fellowship at East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, Tennessee in 1999; fellowship in bone marrow transplantation at the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida in 2000.
