Biography
Dr. Cairo has a special clinical and research interest in breast cancer. During fellowship she pursued a special breast cancer research track to devote a full year of her training to breast cancer treatment and research. She contributed to original research published in the Journal of Breast Cancer Research. In addition, she did training in breast cancer and sarcoma at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She is Board Certified in medical oncology and hematology and specializes in breast cancer. Dr. Cairo's commitment to health education began at Yale where she developed a teen health peer education program in New Haven middle schools. It continued into her research in Senegal where she studied the effect of women's health education on adoption of new health practices.
