Biography
Prof. Dr. Georg Hermes,Born in Dortmund in 1958, studied law, at the same time political science in Bonn, Geneva and Freiburg i.Br. 1976 - 81; first (1981) and second (1988) juridical state examination, doctorate (1986) and habilitation (1997) in Freiburg; Lawyer (1988/89), research assistant at the Federal Constitutional Court (1989-92); Scholarship holder of the German Research Foundation (1992-95), professorships in Bielefeld (1994), Frankfurt am Main (1996-97) and Dresden (1997-98), since 1998 university professor for public law at the University of Frankfurt am Main.
Research Interest
Constitutional law (federal competence questions, parliamentary law). fundamental rights. German and European law of economic regulation. Infrastructure (transport, telecommunications, postal, energy). Privatisierungsfragen. Administrative and administrative procedural law, in particular construction and planning law.
