Since January 2011: Research Fellow at GIGA Institute of African Affairs, part of DFG funded projects "Entrepreneurial Chinese Migrants and Petty African Entrepreneurs: Local Impacts of Interaction in Urban West Africa" and "West African Traders as Translators Between Chinese and African Urban Modernities" Education: Studies in Cultural Anthropology, Freie Universität Berlin and African Studies (MPhil), Universiteit Leiden; PhD in Political Studies at the University of Aberdeen/Centre for Citizenship, Civil Society and Rule of Law
