Biography
Markus studied bioinformatics at the University of Halle. For his diploma thesis in the group of Prof. Posch from the Institute of Computer Science he developed algorithms for the automated detection of different structures in fluorescence microscopy images. He then completed his doctoral thesis on Investigations on the influence of the IGF2mRNA-binding protein 1 on in vitro tumor cell migration using methods of digital image processing and gene expression analyzes. As a postdoc, Markus is involved in the analysis of next-generation sequencing data for various projects of the working group. He also supports Core Facility Imaging (CFI) with the development of automated software solutions and the supervision of microscopes.
