Uta Kossatz-boehlert

Biography

Uta Kossatz-Boehlert has completed her PhD from University Hospital Tuebingen in the department of Internal Medicine I and Clinical Pharmacology in Germany. Her expertise in the analysis of chemotherapy resistance of tumor-initiating cells with stem cell characteristics. She has further worked in the establishing of new technologies (CyTOF) to deeply characterize the phenotypic characteristics of these cells. The search of the new tumorigenic markers in demarcation from non-tumorigenic cells with the same stem cell marker expression is additionally supported by usage of aptamere technology. These translational approaches aim to deeply characterize tumor-initiating cells with stem cell characteristics on phenotypic and molecular level and to better understand the heterogenetic traits of these cells.
