Biography
Astrid studied Biological Engineering (B.Sc.) and Biotechnology (M.Sc.) in the Universities of Applied Sciences in Frankfurt and Darmstadt, Germany, respectively. She started working with upcyte cells as part of her Master degree project at Medicyte GmbH and later completed her PhD on the use of upcyte hepatocytes for genotoxicity assays. Having gained extensive experience with the hands-on aspects of these cells, she continued in the same company in the role of Sales and Business Development and then finally took over the upcytes department by spinning it off to upcyte technologies GmbH in 2015.
