Biography
Mr. Douglas A. Berthiaume is no longer a Chairman of the Board of Waters Corporation., effective December 31, 2017. He has served as Chairman of the Board since February 1996 and served as President, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of the Company from August 1994 (except from January 2002 to March 2003, during which time he did not serve as President) until September 2015. From 1990 to 1994, Mr. Berthiaume served as President of the Waters Chromatography Division of Millipore Corporation, the predecessor business of the Company, which was purchased in 1994. Mr. Berthiaume is the Chairman of the Children’s Hospital Trust Board, and a trustee of the Children’s Hospital Medical Center and The University of Massachusetts Amherst Foundation. Mr. Berthiaume has more than 25 years direct work experience at Waters and its predecessor company, Millipore. Mr. Berthiaume brings to the Waters Board significant experience in both the business and technical issues facing life science/biotechnology companies.
