Biography
As diabetes mellitus is associated with alterations in bone homeostasis which lead to alterations in bone quality and to a higher incidence of delayed healing, I am also a member of the work group “Diabetes and Bone Healing” at the Centre for Trauma and Reconstructive Surgery of the University Hospital Tuebingen, where I am doing research on diabetic osteopathy and on the influence of TGF-ß, which is a possible mediator of gene expression changes.
