Biography
Dr E Alexiou Chatzaki is Associate Professor and the leader of the team of Molecular Pharmacology, a subgroup of the Laboratory of Pharmacology in the Medical School of DUTH (http://pharmacology.med.duth.gr/), specializing in basic research for novel drug target identification and pre-clinical development at a molecular and cellular level, as well as characterization of biomarkers for personalized pharmacotherapy and drug monitoring. Recently, the team is focusing on an initiative on epigenetics and pharmacoepigenetics in human disease. Dr Chatzaki has a >25 year experience in the field, with a large publication record of >60 scientific articles (PubMed), >1000 citations and h>18. She is Member of 5 national and international Scientific Societies and Associate Editor-in-Chief or Member of Editorial Board in >10 Scientific Journals. Her research has received funding primarily by the EEC and the Greek Government in the framework of the programs Pythagoras, Hrakleitos II, INTERREG III Greece-Boulgaria 2000-2006 and INTERREG III Greece-Boulgaria 2007-2013, ARCHIMED – Interreg III, NSRF 2007-2013 ‘Human Resources in Public Health’ and by industry (Jansen-Gilang).
