Biography
Dr. Yanik joined the Medical Faculty of the Ondokuz Mayis University (OMU), Samsun, Turkey, in 1994 and received his MD in 2001. Then he joined the Department of Microbiology as a in during the period of 2002-2007, from same university, and then followed by four-year he worked at the State hospital as a specialist in Microbiology Laboratory and Head in Amasya. Later to his arrival at the OMU Faculty of Medicine and became a lecturer and associate professor in Microbiology department. He teaches General and Medical Microbiology, Immunology, Infectious Diseases and parasitology as well as the related laboratories. Currently he is an active member of several national research and clinical organizations and a reviewer on several medical journals. He also serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Immunology and Clinical Microbiology. Dr. Yanik has published over 160 manuscripts, and abstracts presented at national and international congresses in the field of Microbiology. In addition, he has participated fifteen researches of whom I have been the principal researcher of more of them. Yanik’s major research focus has centered on Mycobacteriology, Prevention of hospital infection, molecular techniques for identification of bacteria, molecular characterization of antibiotic-resistance and studying the in vitro susceptibility of investigational drugs in bacteria and parasitology but his interest has immunology, molecular microbiology and development of diagnosis techniques in microbiology.
