Biography
Dr Bharat Rekhi, MD, DNB, MIAC is presently Professor at the Department of Pathology and Secretary, Bone and Soft Tissues, Disease Management group, Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. His areas of special interest include oncopathology related to Soft tissue tumors, Gynaecpathology and Cytopathology. He has over 100 published and ‘In press’ papers in National and International journals and 21 International abstracts, as author and co-author. He has presented at several national and international conferences, including at the International Academy of Cytology, USCAP, AMP and ECP. He has contributed 9 book chapters and is editor of one book. He is a life member IAPM, IAC; of International bodies like the International Academy of Cytology (MIAC), College of American Pathologists (MCAP) and was a member of American Society of Cytopathology. He is International membership grant recipient for Association of Molecular pathologists, USA for year 2012 and 2013. He has reviewed for 31 different Journals and has been reviewer for National Medical Research Council, Ministry of Health, and Singapore. He is a recognized post-graduate teacher for MD students. His awards include grand prize for best electronic poster exhibit at the International Skeletal Society, 2012, Rome, 2nd prize at the Asia Oceania Research Organization on Genital infections and Neoplasia (AOGIN)-India 2011 and certificate of excellence for presentation at founder’s day, 2004, Institute of Pathology, ICMR, New Delhi. Selected for Smt. Kunti Mehrotra award best published paper by I.A.P.M. year 2013. Received observership training as a visiting professor at the Division of Anatomic Pathology, University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, Fairview, U.S.A ; Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA ,Institute of Pathology, University of Tuebingen, Germany and at the Department of Pathology, John Hopkins, Baltimore, Maryland, USA
