Biography
Dr. Iványi received his medical degree at the Szent-Györgyi Medical University, Szeged, Hungary in 1981. He has finished postgraduate specialization in internal medicine (1986) and clinical endocrinology (1992) at the same university. In 1990 he spent one year in the Rudolf Magnus Institute for Pharmacology, University of Utrecht, as a research fellow, and between 1992-1994 he continued his basic research in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism, University of Pittsburgh. He joined Lilly Hungary in 1994 where he is currently working as Senior Medical Advisor of Diabetes Business Unit. Since Oct 2011, his responsibility expanded as Medical Lead of Diabetes Affairs, Lilly Hungary. Dr. Ivanyi contributed significantly to the research and educational projects related to diabetes, osteoporosis and erectile dysfunction, helping to advance a number of global and regional clinical trials; was (co)authoring several publications on results of phase 3/4 clinical trials and delivered multiple scientific lectures for internal and external audiences (Diabetes Universities; RSSDI-Mumbai; ADA-Boston; EASD-Stockholm). He was also serving as an endocrinologist consultant in the St John's Hospital, Budapest between 2002-14, followed by St. Gellert Private Clinic, Budapest (currently). He was invited for a six months assignment in 2014 by the peglispro development team in Lilly Research Laboratory, Indianapolis. Since 1st of September, 2016 he received a new assignment in Lilly Global Diabetes Medical Affairs, supporting empagliflozin in the Alliance with Boehringer Ingelheim.
