Biography
Juergen Brokatzky-Geiger, Ph.D., is Global Head, Corporate Responsibility for Novartis. He assumed this position in February 2014. Mr. Brokatzky-Geiger joined Ciba-Geigy Ltd. in 1983 as a Ph.D. chemist in the Pharmaceuticals Division in Switzerland. After a job rotation in the United States, he held positions of increasing responsibility in Research and Development (R&D), including Group Leader of Process R&D, Head of Process R&D, and Head of Process Development and Pilot Plant Operations. During the merger of Ciba-Geigy and Sandoz in 1996, Mr. Brokatzky-Geiger was appointed Integration Officer of Technical Operations. He later became the Head of Chemical and Analytical Development, and served as the Global Head of Technical R&D from 1999 to 2003. From 2003 until 2014, he was Head of Human Resources of Novartis. Mr. Brokatzky-Geiger is a member of the board of Bachem AG in Switzerland. He graduated with a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Freiburg, Germany, in 1982. Mr. Brokatzky-Geiger has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Novartis Foundation since September 2010.
