Biography
Aidan McKegney is an Economics (Hons) graduate from the University of Ulster (1983) and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing. He has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing since 1986 and successfully completed the Institute of Directors Diploma in Company Direction in 1996. Prior to joining MediCare in 2001, Aidan spent most of his career with Belmont Foto Service which he joined in 1987 as Marketing Executive. During his time with Belmont the business changed hands several times. Initially being a family owned business, Belmont was acquired by London International Plc in 1988 who subsequently, in 1995, sold it to the Nashua Corporation of America. Under Nashua, Aidan was promoted to Sales & Marketing Director for Ireland and was appointed to the Nashua Strategic Planning Team in the U.S. In 1997 Nashua decided to divest all their non US businesses and the management team in Ireland were given permission to pursue a management buyout of the Irish business. The team eventually lost out to their main competitor in Ireland, Spectra Photo. Since joining MediCare Aidan has brought a much needed marketing edge to the Group.
