Biography
PhD in Medical Biotechnology, obtained at the Universities of Siena and Liverpool. During my studies I have gained extensive experience in the field of molecular biology, biochemistry and cell biology. In particular in University of Siena’s lab, I was involved prevalent in the study of protein aggregation through UV/VIS spectrophotometry and protein extracts characterization by electrophoresis (2D SDS-Page, Western blotting). During my doctoral experience I studied also an ultra-rare disease called Alkaptonuria (AKU), analyzing cell and tissue cultures from musculoskeletal system (obtain from biopsies of patients), sample screening by ELISA and Bio-plex and sample preparation/examination for optical and fluorescence microscope. Instead at University of Liverpool, always for the study of AKU, I was involved prevalent in the extraction and analysis of mRNA from tissue of mouse model. My research has contributed to discovery a new form of amyloidosis associated to AKU, allowing to develop a more effective treatment for the cure of this disease. During my studies I also worked on projects related to Alzheimer and heart protein (ANP) amyloid aggregation, writing publications on both projects. Currently I working, for GSK, to a project concerning the product transfer and the construction of a new production module. As part of my work I am specialized in project management and change management (as a Change owner), SOP reviewing, operators training and documentation for inspection (FDA and AIFA) I’m looking always new experiences and work challenges, that will allow me to put to use all the studies and work experience.
