Biography
Marcella Leonetti-Tyler, a veteran newspaper reporter, magazine editor and award-winning public relations practitioner, is the Executive Director of Program Advancement at California State University, Northridge. She has an extensive history of service not only to the university, but also to the Italian American community at local, national and international levels. Marcella is the Far West (South) Regional Vice President of the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) in Washington, D.C. She served as co-chair of Los Angeles County’s Christopher Columbus Quincentennial Celebration as well as being a member of the national Christopher Columbus Celebration committee established by the President of the United States. She chairs NIAF’s Italian American Media Group here in Los Angeles, and for many years was a board member of the Historic Italian Hall Foundation. Marcella was awarded the Order to the Merit of the Republic (Cavaliere) in 2006.
