Claudia Borreani

Biography

She graduated in Psychology at the University of Padua in 1988, discussing a thesis on the psychological problems of women with breast cancer. From 89 to 95 she is the AIRC Fellow and then Researcher at the Institute of Psychology of the National Institute for Cancer Research (IST) in Genoa, where she deals with the study of the psychological components of oncology and AIDS. In 92 she spent a period of study at the Unité de Soins Palliatifs of the Paris University Hospital as part of a CNR / INSERM bilateral research project titled "Longitudinal analysis of psychological and organizational issues related to dementia in the departments specialized. " From 96 to 2001 she is Associate Researcher at the Institute of Clinical Psychology of the Istituto Nazionale Tumori IRCCS Foundation in Milan where he deals with clinical, research and training in the psycho-medical field. Since 2002 she has been recruited as Psychologist Manager at the Institute of Clinical Psychology of the IRCCS National Cancer Institute in Milan. Since 2007 she is in charge of the Structure of Clinical Psychology.

Research Interest

Psychological research is the interface between Oenology and Psychology and Psychiatry, and aims to study the most significant aspects of the disease experience, including: • psychological and social impact of the disease on the patient, on the family and on the care unit; • the role of psychological and behavioral factors in prevention, early diagnosis and cure of neoplasms; • the effect of psychological therapies on the process of adaptation to disease and the quality of life of patients; • The study of the psychological dimension related to particular clinical situations in the field of cancer: liver transplantation, genetic diagnosis, rare tumors ... • the existential dimension of the disease experience with particular reference to the search for meanin
