Biography
Laurea 110/110 in Physics (1988), University of Pisa, PhD in Physics (1993), University of Pavia. Senior scientist at the National Institute for the Physics of Matter since 2001. Now at the Institute of Marine Sciences in La Spezia. His scientific activity touches three main fields: “foundation of thermodynamics and statistical mechanics”, “Didactics and Popularization of Science”, “Photovoltaics and renewable Energies”. Author and co-author of many scientific papers, most of them published in the most important international reviews, and co-author of many multimedia courses awarded by national and international prizes. He pushed and he is shareholder of 5 Spin-Off companies that operate in PV R&D and market. For this activity he received the Assipe (Associazione italiana progettazione elettronica) award “Projenius 2008” and in 2009 he was appointed “Honorary Ambassador of the Capannori commune”.
