Judge activity for international scientific journals: Talanta; Analytica Acta Chemistry; Journal of Chromatography A; Food and Chemical Toxicology; Journal of AOAC INTERNATIONAL Research activity: Scientific activity, which has been used by Italian and foreign researchers, was held at the Department of Pharmacy of the University of Naples Federico II on chemical and pharmaceutical technology topics and is documented by 28 extensively published papers international and 20 communications to national and international congresses. The research activity has focused on pharmaceutical analytical issues in order to identify methods for the bioactive molecule dosing in pharmaceutical formulations and / or biological fluids and has been directed towards studies on environmental and food contamination by pesticides, also through multiresidue methods of analysis. Among the objectives of the study were the development of "model building" methods for the prevention of environmental contamination, the identification of the risk parameters of such contaminants and of control in their real use situations. In collaboration with the Department of Materials and Products Engineering at the University of Naples, he conducted studies on diffusive conductivity, release rate, thickness of the swelling layer for the timely programming of an active ingredient taken as a model drug, from PEO to different molecular weights. In collaboration with the Department of Pharmacology of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Naples conducted studies on the spasmolytic activity of medicinal plants used in the treatment of smooth muscle disorders. In collaboration with researchers S.Trabue and J.Anderson of Dupont Crop Protection and Dr. A. Di Muccio's researcher at the Istituto Superiore di Sanità has conducted studies on the environmental fate of pesticides. Currently, its research activity is aimed at the development of new analytical methods for the extraction, characterization and determination of nutraceuticals and xenobiotics, of different origins, in different matrices, food and environment. In particular, SPE solid phase extraction techniques have been used, coupling high performance photodiode detection (HPLC / DAD) liquid chromatography as an analytical technique. Such methodologies were simple, rapid and low cost and allowed to highlight substances that could have beneficial effects on human health and to monitor accurately and accurately by verifying "real samples", ie products on the market, environmental and food contamination, It should be emphasized that all the developed methods have been strictly validated, following the guidelines of the main guidelines, with the aim of demonstrating the validity of each method developed by evaluating all useful parameters for this purpose and through the use of new approach strategies.
