Biography
Born in Rome on April 24, 1955; 1979 Graduated at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in Biological Sciences under the supervision of prof. F. Amaldi; 1980 at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg (Germany) where he works in collaboration with prof. G. Cesareni in the group of dr. Noreen Murray on a project to develop new cloning vectors: the phagemens. 1981-1983, at Polifarma SpA, as a researcher, on pharmaceutical biochemistry projects; 1984-1992 at the Center for Nucleic Acid Studies at CNR, first as a fellow and then as a technologist mainly dealing with DNA structures and topology. From 1992 until today at the University of Rome Sapienza as associate professor of Molecular Biology; he is currently dealing with DNA topoisomerase and chromatin structure in the process of gene regulation and aging. Since 2003 she has been Associate to the Institute of Molecular Biology and Molecular Pathology (IBPM) of CNR.
