Research Interest
Proteomic characterization of biofluids and tissues by two-dimensional electrophoresis coupled to high resolution ESI mass spectrometry in order to establish the protein expression profile and post-translational changes in physiological, pathological and pharmacological treatment. This analysis can provide an important contribution to the identification of new biomarkers of specific pathologies. Given that HPLC-ESI-MS analysis allows peptide and acid-soluble protein to be fluid in the fluid / tissue, complementation with bidimensional electrophoresis analysis allows the analysis of proteins present in the acid insoluble fraction, after their proper solubilization, thus expanding the proteomic characterization of the fluid / tissue. Isolation and characterization of salivary proteins and peptides Proteomic characterization of Sardinian DOP pork cheeses and milk used for their production by electrophoretic techniques coupled to mass spectrometry (activation line during activation)
