Biography
Degree in Natural Sciences at the University "La Sapienza" in Rome and PhD in Environmental Sciences at the University of Urbino. Since 2003 she has been working with UNEP conventions as a consultant to the Ministry of the Environment and the Protection of the Territory and the Sea, in particular the Convention on Biological Diversity. From 2004 to 2006 he worked at the Department of Environmental Science "G. Sarfatti "University of Siena with a research grant funded by the European Community, V Framework Program" Conditions for restoration and mitigation in desertified areas using vegetation- RECONDES "in collaboration with the Institute for Hydrogeological Research (IRPI - CNR ) - detached unit of Florence. In 2006 he is the founding partner of the Terradata srl environmental science academic spin-off that is born to develop, integrate, transfer and apply the results of scientific research by promoting quantitative methods for environmental assessment and monitoring. The spin-off company was formed by a group of researchers from the Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of Siena, the University of Florence and the Linnaea ambiente srl company in Florence. From 2006 to 2011 he has collaborated at the Department of Environmental Biology at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" on the implementation of the Global Plant Conservation Program (UNEP) Convention in Italy, collaborating in the implementation of various projects, even on a national scale. In particular, during the two-year period 2006/08, it coordinated the implementation of the national research project "First contribution to the definition of important plant areas in Italy - first and second phase", a convention concluded between the Ministry of 'Environment and the Protection of the Territory and the Sea - Direction for the Protection of the Nature and the Interuniversity Research Center "Biodiversity, Physiognomics and Landscape Ecology". The aim of the research was to create a network of Important Plant Areas (IPA). Since March 2011 he is a researcher (Environmental and Applied Botanical, BIO / 03) at the University of Cagliari at the Department of Life and Environmental Sciences. Since 2011 he has been National Coordinator of the Ecology Group of the Italian Botanic Society and a member of the Board of Directors of Planta Europa, a network of independent, governmental and non-governmental associations, whose goal is to preserve plant diversity in Europe. In 2014/2015, she participates in the project funded by the European Community, the ENPI-MED program, entitled "GREAT Med", which coordinates the Workpackage - Toolkit development and application. His main scientific interests concern the management and use of flora and fauna data on GIS platforms for the selection of sites for the conservation of diversity; Landscape scale analysis, effects of environmental fragmentation on plant biodiversity and definition of ecological networks at different scale; planning and scale effect in monitoring environmental restoration interventions. He is a member of the faculty member of the School of PhD in Engineering and Science for the Environment and the Territory of the University of Cagliari.
