Biography
In 1985, he obtained a degree in scientific maturity, undergraduates at the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Catania where in 1992 he obtained his degree in agricultural sciences and technologies with the highest marks and praise, achieving two degree awards by IRFIS (Mediocredito for Sicilia SpA) and Consorzio Catania Ricerca. In 1992 he worked as a trainee at the Jaques Marrionnet GFA (Soing-en-Sologne, FR) nursery. From 1994 to 1997 he works as a guest researcher at Wageningen (NL) Center for Plant Breeding and Reproduction Research (CPRO-DLO), dealing with biotechnology applied to propagation and genetic improvement of flower bulbos. In 1997, he undertook a Ph.D. in "Cultivated Plant Productivity" curriculum "Biology of Mediterranean Species" at the Faculty of Agriculture in Catania and in 2001 he obtained the title of Doctor of Research defending the thesis entitled "Innovative Agrobiotechnologies for the Improvement of Production of the Lilium ". From 2000 to 2005 he was the holder of a research grant under the "Product and process innovation for Mediterranean gardening" program. From 2006 until today he is a Researcher at SSD AGR / 04. From 2002-2003 he has been teaching "Floriculture", "Specialist vegetable gardening" and "Biotechnology for horticulture".
