Gioacchino Pappalardo

Biography

Born in Bronte (CT) on September 05, 1968. In 2003 he graduated from Agrarian Sciences at the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Catania with 110/110 votes and praise. Experiences and activities: from January to April 2015, he was visiting visiting scholar at the Department of Agricultural Economics at Oklahoma State University where he attended the Primary Data Collection and Analysis course held by Prof. Jayson Lusk. During this period he also collaborated with Prof. Lusk on the subject of consumer behavior regarding the consumption of functional foods. from October 2014 to November 2015, he was a Visiting Research Scholar at the College of Education at Michigan State University (USA). During this period he attended the course " Introduction to the Models, Clustering and Graphical Representations for Social Network Analysis " held by Prof. Kenneth Frank. January 2013: he was guest scientist at Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Central and Eastern Europe (IAMO), Halle (Saale), Germany, where he conducted several stages of research "Tracing the Evolution of LEADER Local Action Groups by means of Social Network Analysis A Romanian Italian Comparison ". From 31 December 2011 he is full time researcher for SSD AGR01 "Economics and Rural Estimate" at the Department of Management of Agro-Food and Environmental Systems (DIGESA) of the University of Catania. From 04-01-2010 to 03-01-2011: has been a research grant on "The role of quality products for the enhancement of rural areas of Sicily" at the Department of Agro-economics and Estimation Sciences ( DISEAE) of the University of Catania. From 03-06-2008 to 02-06-2009: has been the holder of a research grant on "Analysis of Community Agricultural Policies and Their Impact in Mediterranean Productions" at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agronomy and Estimation (DISEAE) 'University of Catania. From 01-07-2002 to 30-06-2003: he has been the holder of a research grant on "Rural Development Systems in the Mediterranean Basin Countries" at the Department of Agro-Economics and Estimation Sciences (DISEAE) University of Catania. From 01-08-2000 to 31-07-2001: He has been the holder of a research grant on the "Economic Analysis of Milk Cattle Farms" at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Estimation (DISEAE) of the University of Studies of Catania. Training: Gioacchino Pappalardo is Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics and Policy (XII Cycle) having obtained his degree at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Catania in the year 2000. In July 2015 he attended the Summer School in " Experimental Auctions: Theory and Applications in Food Marketing and Consumer Preferences Analysis " organized by the University of Bologna and held at the Mediterranean Agricultural Institute of Chania (MAICh), Chania, Crete, Greece (July 7-14, 2015). In July 2001 he attended the Summer School in Environmental and Resource Economics on the topic " Economic Valuation Method " organized by the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists and the ENI Enrico Mattei Foundation and held in Venice from 2 to 7 July 2001.
