Biography

Researcher confirmed in the scientific-disciplinary field AGR01 "Economia e Estimo Rurale" at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Di3A) of the University of Catania (Department of Agro-Food Economics). In AI 1992/93 he graduated from Agrarian Science at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Catania; In 1992/93 he won a scholarship, Robert Schuman, at the European Parliament, where he conducted a research on "Common Agricultural Policy and Quality Policy for Agricultural and Food Products " In AI 1998 / 99 holds the title of Doctor of Science in Economics and Agrarian Policy (X cycle) at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Catania. In AI 1998/99 he was awarded a research grant at the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Catania (science-disciplinary sector AGR01 - Economy and Rural Estimation), for carrying out the research program "Economics of livestock breeding in Sicily and strategies for the valorisation of dairy products ". From AA 2004/2005 to 2009/2010, he was a member of the College of Researchers at the "Local Development" (formerly "Economy and Agricultural Policy") at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Catania. From 2010/2011 he is a member of the College of PhD students in "Agro-Food Economics" at the University of Catania, participating in common teaching activities and performing tutor functions. In the AA 2003-2004 she has taught "Marketing of Agro-Food Products" (under the Degree Course in Agricultural Sciences and Technologies, University of Catania); from AA 2004-2005 to AA 2009-2010 held the course "Marketing of agro-food products" (under the Master of Science degree in Food Science and Technology); in AI 2012-2013 held the course "Tools and Standards for Food Safety". He has collaborated in research programs, also as coordinator-responsible, within the disciplinary disciplinary field of belonging. He participated in national and international scientific conferences where he presented reports and / or communications. Referee of journals in the field of scientific affiliation and evaluator of national projects (FIRB Projects). Since 1999 he is a member of the Italian Society of Agricultural Economics (SIDEA). Since 1999 he has been a member of the Italian Association of Regional Sciences (AISRe).
