Biography

Director of the SOD regenerative therapies of the DAI of Biomedicine of the Hospital / University Company of Careggi in Florence. The relief activity of prof. F. Annunziato has been targeted at the study of particular lymphocyte subpopulations in some immunodeficiencies and autoimmune pathologies. In particular, citofluorimetric techniques carried out studies on the presence and function of T lymphocytic subtypes, regulatory T, T cytotoxic and Natural Killer. In addition, it optimized the in vitro study of the specific antigen response with particular reference to patients suspected of Tuberculosis Mycobacteria. Indeed, during the last five years, prof. F. Annunziato has developed a new diagnostic methodology that allows the identification, through cytofluorometric analysis, of patients who have come into contact with Tuberculosis Mycobacteria. The data he has obtained has recently been published on an international scientific journal. In addition, prof. F. Annunziato actively participated in the development of the SCELTA trial for which he was entrusted with the responsibility for isolating the CD14 + CD34 + monocyte population from atheresis of lower limb ischemia patients who will be recruited for the study . In this respect, it should be remembered that the prof. F. Annunziato is one of the discoverers of this new stem cell population, which has been patented by AOUC in Florence. It should be noted that the SCELTA trial has passed the judgment of the local Ethics Committee and has recently been approved by the Higher Institute of Health.

His research interests are directed towards topics of Allergology, Immunology, Oncology, Hematology and other physiopathological areas of the General Human Pathology.
