Biography
Giovanna Campani Modena, Italy, 13-12-1950 Professional history. 1974: MA Philosophy. University of Pisa, Italy: "History, Science and Sociology in Max Weber's Thought"; 1974: Diploma of the Upper Secondary School of Pisa, Italy 1977: DEA Degree in Etudes in Sociology of Work, University of Paris I (France) with a thesis on "Vocational Education in Italy, France and Germany " 1988 PhD. in Ethnology, University of Nice (France) on "Family, Village and Regional Networks of Italian Immigrants in France". The professional profile was built in a multi-and interdisciplinary field involving contributions from sociology, ethnology and education. Through this highly interdisciplinary background, she has approached cultural studies and gender studies. Languages ​​spoken and written: Italian, French, English, German, Spanish and Portuguese.
Research Interest
She mainly operated in the field of international multilevel research starting from 1988/89 with a project entitled "Immigrant Women and Social Promotion", funded by European Research on Self-Employed Women and directed by Mirjana Morokvasic (Commission for Equal Opportunities) and one on "Women's Education in Italy", directed by Professor Margaret Sutherland for the Council of Comparative Education. She is currently coordinating the Italian partnership for two IRSES projects. Fundamental Rights.
