Gloria Terenzi

Biography

Born in Fossombrone (PU) on November 21, 1965. Graduated in Civil Engineering - Structural Section at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 1991. In 1996 she received her PhD in Structural Engineering at the University of Florence. From February 2001 to September 2015 she was a researcher at Structural Engineering at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (DICEA) of the University of Florence. Since October 2015 she is Associate Professor in Structural Engineering at the DICEA Department, where she is currently teaching Structural Engineering Part II and Earthquake Engineering. She is author of more than 130 scientific papers, 29 of which printed in international journals. Two of these papers (S. Sorace, G. Terenzi, "Non-linear dynamic modeling and design procedure of FV spring dampers for base isolation", Engineering Structures, Vol. 23 (12), December 2001, pp. 1556-1567 and S. Sorace, G. Terenzi, "Non-linear dynamic design procedure of FV spring-dampers for base isolation frame building applications", Engineering Structures, Vol. 23 (12), December 2001, pp. 1568-1576) jointly awarded the 2001 edition of the "Munro Prize", for the best paper published every year in the Engineering Structures journal, Elsevier Ltd.

Research Interest

Its main research fields include the structural analysis and analysis of structural seismic protection technologies, the analysis of the seismic performance of historic masonry buildings and of steel and R / C structures, the experimental analysis of elements and structural systems, and the strengthening of members and structures, also by means of FRPs.
