Biography
Graduated in 1977 at the Faculty of Humanities and Philosophy at the University of Florence, discussing with Prof. Arrigo Castellani a thesis in History of the Italian language entitled The book of giving and having children of Stefano Soderini (1306-1325) . - Holder of a scholarship "Aldo Palazzeschi" of the University of Florence in the two years 1979-1980. - Researcher at the Faculty of Humanities and Philosophy at the University of Florence from August 1980 until October 1998. - Associate Professor at the Faculty of Humanities and Philosophy of the "G. D'Annunzio" University of Chieti, where I have held the chair of History of the Italian language from 1 November 1998 to 30 December 2002. - Associate Professor at the Faculty of Humanities and Philosophy of the University of Florence, as a holder of the History of Italian Language in the years 2003-2005. - Ordinary Professor of Italian Linguistics (disciplinary sector L-FIL-LET / 12) at the Florentine University from 1 November 2005 to today. - Member of the Academy of Crusca since 2011, and Vice-President in the three-year period 2011-2014.
Research Interest
medieval Italian linguistic history , paying particular attention to the Tuscan area and its most ancient volcanic production (13th-15th centuries).
