Biography
- Born in Florence on April 24, 1961 - Graduated in Medicine and Surgery on 12 October 1987 with the highest marks and praise - On November 5, 1990, he won the national competition for the granting of scholarships for further education and specialization at university-level foreign institutions. - Specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology with the highest marks and praise on October 21, 1991. - From March 1991 to March 1993 fellowship at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Dexeus in Barcelona, ​​Spain, under the guidance of Prof. S. Dexeus. - From 1993 to 1996 he has been in charge of internal medical care with teaching, didactic and research tasks at the Ginecological and Obstetrician Clinic of the University of Florence. - From November 1995 to July 1996 he has been researching at the Jefferson Cancer Institute at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, USA and attended the Department of Oncology of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, with the Dr. John J. Mikut and Dr. Stephen C. Rubin. - In July 1998 he was appointed Chief Medical Officer at the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic of the Catholic University of Rome, with specific tasks in the field of gynecological oncology surgery. - In April 1999 he holds the title of Doctor of Research in Integrated Oncology at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Rome. - In June 1999 he was appointed Professor at the School of Specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florence. - In October 2000 he was qualified as Associate Professor in SSD F20X (Gynecology and Obstetrics) following a comparative assessment by the University of Foggia, whose acts were approved by DR No. 927 of 30/10 / 2000. - Since October 1, 2001 he is Associate Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Department of Gynecology, Perinatal and Human Reproduction of the University of Florence. He is a lecturer at the Degree in Medicine and Surgery, in the Bachelor's Degree in Obstetrics, at the Degree in Nursing Sciences (Prato's home), at the School of Specialization in Gynecology and Obstetrics. - Since October 2003 she has been responsible for the Senology Unit at the Department of Gynecology, Perinatal and Human Reproduction of the University of Florence. Prof. Susini is the author of 146 publications in international and national journals (Impact Factor total: 147,925) and is the first author of the book published by the National Academy of Medicine "New prognostic factors in oncology gynecology".
Research Interest
Until the early years of university education, there was a strong interest in research. From 1983 to 1986 he dedicated himself to original studies on vagal regulation of gastric motility, conducted on the rabbit animal model. Subsequently, since 1987, his interest was exclusively for gynecology and obstetrics. As part of the specialty, Prof. Susini has devoted particular attention to the topics of gynecology and surgery oncology that have become her main field of research. In the midst of obstetrics, he studied uterine contraction and delivery mechanisms, focusing on emerging issues of obstetrics such as gestosis and increasing use of Caesarean section.
