Biography

Dr. Francesco Ranaldi was born in Cardiff (GB) on 30-10-1963 and is an Italian citizen. 1991: Degree Diploma (110 and Praise) in Biological Sciences at the Department of Biochemical Sciences, University of Florence. 1991-1994: Studies on the kinetic and structural properties of isocitrated liqueur enzyme from Pinus pinea and Rhodotorula gracilis. Studies on the enzyme composition of human cervical mucus during the various stages of the ovulatory cycle. 1991-1995: Ph.D. in Biochemistry (Department of Biochemical Sciences, University of Florence) (diploma in 1997). 1995: Winner of the SIB Medal at the National Congress of the Italian Society of Biochemistry, as the author of the best poster. 1995-1996: Studies on various themes of enzymatic kinetics, relating to the reliability of the methods used for the evaluation of kinetic parameters, using computer simulated initial speed data. 1994-1997: EMEC Project (Effect of Microgravity on Enzyme Catalysis), funded by the Italian Space Agency (ASI), the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Swedish Space Corporation (SSC) in collaboration with Galileo Offices. The experiment fired on a sounding rocket in May 1996 from the missile base of Esrange in Kiruna (Sweden). 1997: Role of laboratory technician at the Department of Biochemical Sciences, University of Florence. 1995-1999: School of Specialization in Biochemistry and Clinical Chemistry. 1997-1999: Studies on the enzyme complex of isobenzene involved in the production of carcinogenic compounds from compounds (azobenzene derivatives) used as dyes in the textile industry. Since 1999 she has been part of the Organizing Committee of SISM (Italian Society of Medicine History). 1997-2001: Continuation of the EMEC project (Zero-G A-300 parabolic flight campaign, made available by Novespace at the Bordeaux military airport in France). 2002-2004: Studies on seed germination in a gravitational environment altered. 2009: Role of Researcher (BIO / 10), Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Florence. 1997-2009: Didactic teaching activity for teaching staff at various courses in Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Florence. Since 2009: Holder of Chemistry and Biochemistry courses at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Florence. 2005-2012: Studies on the effects of physical stress (radiation and / or microgravity) on biological systems. Proteomic approach. Studies on cell proliferation and migration in altered severity conditions.
