Biography

Work position: Since 1990 in the Department of Endocrinology of the Department of Clinical Physiopathology, University of Florence, First as a technician and since 2005 as a researcher confirmed. Teaching activities: Professor of Biotechnology and Biomedical Laboratory Sciences, PhD student at Endocrine, Molecular and Regenerative Biotechnology, Teacher of the School of Specialization in Endocrinology and Spatial Diseases. Assistance: laboratory diagnostics of SOD endocrinology with execution examinations, signing of reports, development of advanced non-routine methods. Scientific activity: Scientific director of projects funded by public and private bodies. It is part of the editorial board of the Hormone Molecular Biology and Clinical Investigation magazine. Research lines: Steroidogenesis and steroid metabolism, comparative studies on steroidogenesis in plant and man. Structure-activity relationships of enzymatic inhibitors. Study of lipid rafts and pathological implications of regulation of cholesterol biosynthesis and membrane lipid structure. Development of quantitative methods in mass spectrometry for the dosage of hormones and drugs. Scientific production: author of over 30 publications on indexed ISI journals (total IF 131.8, medium IF 4.0). Author of 3 chapters on books.
