Biography

Stefano Pallanti is Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Florence and Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, where he was the first founder and director of the Center for Excellence for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Impulse Disorder and Dependence Behavioral. Since 2009, Prof. Pallanti is Director of SOD in Clinical Psychology at the School of Medicine of the University of Florence. Prof. Pallanti is a member of the ECNP's Educational Committee, the Advisory Council of the International Center for Research and Education on Autism (Icare4autsm, New York), the Scientific Committee of the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP) the Consultative Council of the American Psychiatric Association for the 4th Edition (DSM-IV) Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders and DSM-V Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum Disorders Work Group. He is also a member of the International College for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders (ICOCS) and Associate Director of the International Master in Affective Neuroscience, based in Maastricht-Bristol-Tel Aviv-Paris-Florence. Professor Pallanti is also Chairman of the Targeted Expert Meeting on Anxiety Disorders and anxiolytic drugs organized in September 2011 on the occasion of the ECNP. His research projects range from treating obsessive-compulsive disorder, PANDAS, Anxiety in Psychoses, Pregnancy Anxiety Disorder, during childbirth and post-partum, to the ADHD-OCD Spectrum. Professor Pallanti has contributed to numerous manuals and textbooks and has published 120 articles in scientific journals. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Psychiatry and was the editor-in-chief of the Italian version. Professor Pallanti is also a member of the editorial board and editor of CNS Spectrum and the International Editor of American Psychiatric Publishing.
