Biography
Giorgio Tenci graduated in Biological Sciences in 1988 at the University of Parma. In 1994 he received the title of PhD in Biology and Molecular Pathology at the same University. In 1994 and 1995 he spent a first period of post-doctoral studies at the Service de Biochimie et Génétique Moléculaire at CEA-Saclay (Gif-sur-Yvette, France) as the holder of an "EMBO long-term postdoctoral fellowship". After a second period of post-doctoral research at the University of Parma (1996-1997), from 1997 to 2001 he served as Researcher (1997-2001), Associate Professor (2001-2015) and (from 2016) Professor Ordinary of Biochemistry at the same University. Since 1999 he has played a ' intense didactic activity as a holder of courses in Cell Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of Eucariotes for the Class of Biology Sciences. From 2011 to 2013 he was the President of the Degree Course in Biology. She has been a member of the faculty college of several PhD programs at the University of Parma: Molecular Biology and Pathology (1998-2001); Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (2002- 2011); Biotechnology and Biosciences (2012-).

Molecular mechanisms of gene transcription and its regulation in eukaryotes. Identification and biogenesis of small non-coding RNAs for regulatory function (ncRNA) proteins.
